Since 1959 the fascinating Lake Irrsee and the connecting North Moor have been under environmental protection and with good reason. The ecologically precious area with its natural eco systems is home to the nearly extinct curlew birds, which still has its nesting grounds at Lake Irrsee. Parts of this special water are open for swimming and publicly accessible.
