Climbing at Lake Mondsee

Spectacular via ferrata and fantastic indoor options

Climbing enthusiasts can look forward to exciting and enjoyable challenges here at Mondsee. No matter if you are already a passionate climber with a lot of experience or if you want to improve your skills as a beginner. You will find the very best conditions for the alpine trend sport in our region.

Drachenwand mountain

The via ferrata at Mondsee are an Eldorado for everyone who wants to climb high. If you love climbing, you will love the via ferrata on the east side of the Drachenwand. It traverses an altitude gain of 400 metres and is only suitable for experienced climbers. Approximately 60 per cent of the route reaches difficulty level B, 40 per cent leads across level C terrain. Along the way you will encounter steep steps, crossings and a suspension bridge. Once you have completed the medium-difficulty route, you will be rewarded with a magnificent, panoramic view of Lake Mondsee and the surrounding mountains from the summit!

The climbing hall on Lake Mondsee

1,280 square meters of climbing facilities and an indoor bouldering area

If you really want to let off steam while climbing and bouldering, the climbing hall Mondsee is the right place for you! Whether beginner or professional, here every climber gets his money's worth. And should you want to improve your skills a bit, just attend one of the courses for beginners and advanced climbers!

By the way, you will feel very close to our mountains, because the hall has a huge panoramic window with a view of the Drachenwand! Of course, small kids can also gain their first experience in the climbing hall: Children up to 14 years of age accompanied by an adult and teenagers up to 18 years of age can join even without adults!
